Coaches Corner 2 of 7

2. Team Managers and Registrars

The club has introduced a new role to help with the challenge of managing the ever increasing admin burden and to support coaching teams in providing the best experience for players and parents both on and off the pitch. Ideally this role would be taken on by someone who isn't already a head coach, but they will need to work closely with them. The Team Manager does not necessarily need to do all of these tasks directly, but they will be responsible (with the Head Coach) for ensuring they all get done.

Further guidance will be coming but some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and managing team registrations and memberships on the RFUs system, known as GMS (Game Management System).
  • Fully utilising Pitchero to manage teams (fixtures, availabilities etc)
  • Ensuring team fixtures are on GMS and Pitchero (and updated with results for Junior teams)
  • Managing the team's participation in fundraising activities such as the annual RFU raffle
  • Ensuring that the team has a Safeguarding Lead and enough First Aiders, and that the RFU and club's policies are being adhered to on Pitchero and any closed social media or communication platforms
  • Ensuring that coaches and others are aware of any special requirements such as Medical Conditions, Photography and Media (non) Consent, and that ID cards/documents are available and appropriately stored.
  • Managing entries to Lancashire Competitions and representative nominations to Lancashire and Sale Sharks.
