Seconds Lose At Sedgely

But it's Warrington who provide the magic

Warrington’s second team had to start this game with only 11 players, as a unilateral decision by Sedgeley Park had advanced the kick off to 2.15 from 3.00pm and four Warrington players didn’t arrive until 2.30. However, they managed to restrict the home side to just a single penalty goal in the opening period.
Unfortunately, when restored to full strength, they were unable to contain a strong Park outfit, who scored two tries and added a penalty and a conversion to steam into an 18-0 lead. Warrington hit back with a well-worked try from the ageless Tony Fretwell, converted from the touchline by Dan Griffiths and the sides turned around with Sedgeley Park leading by 18-7.
The second half saw Park in great form, scoring three converted try but the last word went to Warrington, who created a moment of magic, when a Shaun McDErmott cross-field kick, worthy of Lee Briers, found the safe hands of Craig Byrne, who crossed near the posts. Dan Griffiths added the extras.
“We were really up against it today,” confessed captain Shaun Yoxhall. “However the lads stepped up to the plate and special mention must go to Reece Forest, in his first game, and our young colts Luke Turner and Ollie Murs.”
