Welcome to Warrington U7s rugby for the 2018/19 season. Our season will start on Sunday 2nd September when we look forward to seeing boys and girls going into Year 2 coming to join us. U7s rugby is where we start playing matches as a team against other teams. It is tag rugby so non-contact (i.e. no tackling) and all about learning rugby in a more structured, game environment. Alongside this there is lots of team-work, lots of running around and more than anything having FUN!
Training/ matches usually start at 10.30am and lasts for around an hour. Players should wear suitable kit with trainers until after the cricket season has finished (boots and warmer clothing will not be necessary until further into Autumn/Winter) and bring a water bottle. Matches start the last Sunday in September and are then spread home and away across Cheshire and Lancashire throughout the season.
On most Sundays at home there are breakfast butties, teas/coffees etc for sale and the bar is usually open by the time rugby finishes. On Sundays when the team play matches, post-match food is provided in the bar for the players and is a great time for team bonding over their sausage and chips.
As coaches we aim to make the rugby experience as much fun and as inspiring as we possibly can for every child and to give them the best start in their rugby careers. We are all CRB/DBS cleared and at varying stages of our coaching qualifications.
Parking is limited at the club, so early arrival helps to get a space. If the car park is full then there is parking on the roads from the club back towards Stockton Heath, but be careful on the Double Yellows.
We do require more coaching help so please let me know if you are willing to help in any shape or form. We do ask parents to get involved too, especially when we're playing matches and need to keep an eye on 2 or 3 teams.
Any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to drop me a line on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07967 136611.
Looking forward to seeing you in September.
