Our 2016/17 U7s season has now finished with the culmination of our tour and Telford Festival.
Thank you to all of the boys and parents for making it a truly excellent season that has seen every single boy develop their skills, but more importantly seen the boys develop amazing friendships and together as a team.
We will begin U8s training in the back end of the summer holidays and then back to Sunday's the first Sunday in September.
If anyone has any queries, or would like to discuss joining us for next season please drop me (Dom Hastings) a line on 07989 589057. New members - boys and girls - are more than welcome.
Many thanks for the season.
The U7s Coaching Team.
Welcome to Warrington Under 7s rugby for the 2016/17 season. Our season will start on Sunday 4th September; we look forward to seeing all returning players and also to welcome new players too. U7s rugby is all about learning the basic skills of the game and teamwork; with lots of running around, but more than anything; having FUN! We welcome boys and girls of any ability to come and join us. U7s is open to all Year 2 school children.
Training starts at 10.30am and lasts for 60-90 minutes. Players should wear suitable rugby kit (boots and warmer clothing will not be necessary until further into Autumn/Winter) and bring a water bottle. On most Sunday's there is the BBQ selling breakfast butties, teas/coffees etc and the bar is usually open by the time training finishes.
As U7 coaches we aim to make the rugby experience as much fun and as inspiring as we possibly can for every child and to give them the best start in their rugby careers. We are all CRB/DBS cleared and at varying stages of our coaching qualifications.
Parking is limited at the club, so early arrival helps to get a space. If the car park is full then there is parking on the roads from the club back towards Stockton Heath, but be careful on the Double Yellows.
Under 7s is where we commence playing matches (home and away) against other clubs. On weekends without fixtures we will have training at the club. Matches start in October, so all of September will be training.
•Home games - When we have home games, we will generally have a training session as a warm up. Whenever we host another club both Warrington and Away team players will be provided with food after the game. This is a great opportunity for the children to get to know each other better and also for the parents to enjoy the social aspects of the club.
•Away games - We will play away games across Cheshire and into Lancashire. The away games are a great way for the children to see other clubs and to give them a new experience. We also find that the players bond even more at away games and this creates a great team spirit.
•Festivals - At the very start and the very end of the season the club joins all the other local clubs at a host club to have festival of rugby where the teams play a series of round robin games in a mini cup format over half a day.
We play 4-a-side non-contact tag, consistent with the U7 RFU rules.
New players are always welcome at any point during the season. Should you have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
