The U8s season has now finished with our Lake District tour and final game of the season at Kendal.
Thanks to all players, parents, coaches and anyone else who has helped in any way this season for making it a brilliant year for the team.
Pre-season training will start towards the back end of summer, watch out for details on here.
Any new players wishing to join next year will be most welcome. Please drop us a line for details.
The 2017/18 U8s!
Welcome to Warrington Under 8s rugby for the 2017/18 season. Our season will start on Sunday 3rd September when we look forward to seeing all returning players and also to welcome new players too. We welcome boys and girls of any ability to come and join us. U8s is open to all Year 3 school children and is non-contact tag. This year we will be looking to further develop the skills of our players, continuing from our hugely successful 2016/17 season where we won the Fair Play award at the Manchester Festival which was our first taste of playing against other teams.
We place a huge emphasis on the RFUs core values which are known as TREDS (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportmanship) and ask that all players and parents commit to this as it underpins our entire approach to rugby.
Sunday Training starts at 10.30am and lasts for an hour or so. Players should wear suitable rugby kit (boots and warmer clothing will not be necessary until further into Autumn/Winter) and bring a water bottle. On most Sunday's there is the BBQ selling breakfast butties, teas/coffees etc and the bar is usually open by the time training finishes. We are looking at options for further training this season; both pre-season and then into the season as we need. Watch this space for details.
As U8 coaches we aim to make the rugby experience as much fun and as inspiring as we possibly can for every child and to give them the best start in their rugby careers. We are all CRB/DBS cleared and at varying stages of our coaching qualifications.
Parking is limited at the club, so early arrival helps to get a space. If the car park is full then there is parking on the roads from the club back towards Stockton Heath, but be careful on the Double Yellows. The club is currently hoping to offer overflow parking and we will confirm this in due course.
As per RFU rules, we play 6 a side tag (non-contact) rugby with matches starting in to October.
New players are always welcome at any point during the season. Should you have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
