Due to the poor weather and flooded pitches, Warrington played their first home fixture since Nov 18th, and Glossop were the visitors.

Hopes of a triangular fixture were dashed when Liverpool St Helens traveled to the wrong venue due to a communication error, and Warrington's 14 players were left with just the 6 boys from Glossop as opponents.

Warrington 8 - 3 Glossop
Squad: Adam, Archie, Charlie B, Gareth, Max, Sam S, Stephen
Tries: Adam 4, Max 2, Archie, Sam

A comprehensive Warrington win was built on a swarming defence that pressured Glossop into several handling errors which produced turnovers; and once they had the ball the Warrington strike players showed, that despite the lay off, they knew the way to the try line.
Adam's strong running and side stepping was rewarded with 4 tries, while Max's speed saw him bag a nice brace, with Archie and Sam completing the scoring, but this win was down to an impressive team effort with the players organising themselves well in defence and supporting each other superbly in attack.
To their credit, Glossop tried hard and their heads never dropped, but they found a Warrington side in full flow hard to contain.

Warrington 5 - 6 Glossop
Squad: Ben, Charlie C, Declan, Eddie, George, Gregor, Joe
Tries: Ben 2, Eddie 2, Gregor

The second match was a very different affair, the Glossop side were into their stride, while the wait for the first game to finish had taken the edge of the Warrington boys, who struggled to find the kind of form we know they're capable of.
Glossop lead 4-2 at half time, and following a stern half time talking to from the coaches, Warrington rallied in the second half and did manage to level the scores at 5-5, only to see Glossop snatch victory on the final play of the match, which was a fair result on the balance of play.

Both matches were played in good spirits, and the support was magnificent once again.

Hopefully the bad weather is behind us and we can get the season back on track, starting next Sunday at local rivals Widnes!
