The under 8's went into the matches against Sefton after winning the Plate at the Manchester Festival probably still riding high on the excitement but a determined and skilful Sefton side brought them down with a bump.
In game 1 Warrington never led, strong and direct running by Sefton was met with retreating defenders hanging back, a far cry from the offensive tagging that was so successful the previous week.
With only a minute to go Warrington were 4-6 down, a typically mazy Ben Lomax try brought the scores closer but handed possession to the home team.
With a bit more fire in their bellies now the players attacked the restart, turning over in their own half for Sam Roberts to run the length of the field to score on the final whistle earning the boys a lucky draw.
Game 2 saw a return to the stand offish tagging that usually accompanies games where the scores alternate and frankly this was the pattern and therefore more by virtue of starting with possession Warrington prevailed in a dull game 5-4.
Back at training we will be focussing on offensive tagging next week!
