Winning ways continue at welcoming Wirral!

When Wirral pressed their case for a two-tier fixture of experienced and new players we were slightly apprehensive to split the squad up for the first time ever. However, the move proved to be a success.

The A team played two and a half matches, winning 9-7, 8-5 and 4-3.

However, coaches and parents were perhaps all more excited by the performance of the development team.

The team won, lost and drew in their three games but these three games threw up some great statistics….Ruari Byrne got his first try, (actually four of them), Zak Mitchell got his first try, Jacob Sollory-Park got five tries and Sam Hanna was the squad's top try scorer overall with seven and took home the trophy!

Other award winners were from the A team, Ben Lomax for the most passes and Ryan Edwards who amassed a season's best of 29 tag tackles!!

After the matches the Wirral coaches played a giant game of bulldog with all the boys from both sides, this was a lovely spectacle and all our travelling support were hugely impressed with the Wirral coaches and their encouragement of both sets of players during the matches, we really look forward to seeing them back at our place soon.
