Warrington junior colts got their season off to a winning start with a fine victory away at Sale.
With only 17 names on the team sheet it looked as if it could be a difficult afternoon but an early score settled the nerves and the tries kept on coming.
From the first scrum after 2 minutes Luke took the ball to the line putting JP through a gap to score under the posts, converting his own try. Further tries followed from Roma,Benny, Ewan, Scott and Kellan along with further conversions from JP. Taking the score at halftime to 0-40.
The second half was more competitive with Sale having plenty of possession, but some resolute and at times last ditch defence from Warrington managed to keep the home team at bay.
Tries from Ollie and Benny kept the score board ticking over with conversions from Luke, sealing a 0-64 win.
Some great performances today when you take into account the lads haven't had a full training session together,and I'm sure there is more much more to come but a mention goes to Josh,kellan,Scott ,Matt Bullock and Ewan for their hard work in providing a base for the backs to show their talents. And finally a special mention for Mr Matt Beeley who after 2 years of perfecting his water bottle carrying skills made his long awaited and anticipated return to the team which earned the loudest round of applause of the day,great to see him back in the team.
