Back on track
The u15's win comfortably to get the cup campaign back on track.
The u15's trotted out 40-5 winners against last years's semi finalists Littleborough in a game were 6 different try scorers crossed the line for Warrington. We started on the front foot determined to put last weeks disappointment behind us and went through the early phases deep in Littleborough territory. Littleborough's scrambled defence caved in after 4 minutes, following a sweeping move the ball found its way to Lightnin' on the wing who's pace took him around the Borough defence to score, Jude S converted. Rorio scored next, Jim broke the Borough line and made 20 yards before being tackled, good support play from Rorio to quickly scoop the ball up put him through albeit with work still to do but he made short work of it bouncing 3-4 would be tacklers on his way to the line. Ed added a third following a scrappy passage of play dropping onto a loose ball and we went in 21 -0 up at half time.
Owen nearly scored a minute into the second half, CJ receiving the kick, offloading to Lightnin' who found Owen is support with no one in front of him but unfortunately he knocked on. Two minutes later he did score, following a lineout the ball found its way to Matty who was quickly closed down but he managed to offload to Owen as he went down, Owen muscled his way over from 10 yards out to put us 26 -0 up.
Matty took over kicking duty from Jude S in this half and kept up our excellent conversion rate kicking the extras.
CJ's kicking was also good today and a well weighted kick to the corner had Borough back peddling as Leo got there first and popped it up for Charlie to go in and extend the lead further.
Borough had periods between our scoring when they attacked well and we spent some time defending our line, they scored the last (and deserved) try of the day when there fast number 10 made a break with a couple of Borough players on the overlap to go in.
Our forwards were much improved today and it showed especially in the scrum which we dominated against a bigger team,Riley, Ed and Isaac all putting in a shift. Matty took a battering today but shook himself down and carried on, him and CJ pulled all the strings in the middle. We defended well when we needed to, Charlie and Leo both putting in try saving tackles. Overall a solid performance.
Thanks to Kate and the Littleborough lads, Next week Stockport away.
