The under 15's have secured the Lancashire Cup for the third time in 3 years beating a tough Waterloo side.

The under 15's have done it again, they did themselves and the club proud beating Waterloo in the showpiece county final at Leigh to become champions of Lancashire once again.
Supported by parents, grandparents, friends and most importantly the lads who did not make it into the final squad the boys on the pitch played a disciplined and solid game to keep out an aggressive Waterloo side who dominated most of the territory in the first half.
Our defence was brilliant and despite the game mostly happening in our half the lads kept there shape and forced several errors from Waterloo which we capitalised on in the 6th minute when following a line out in our half we worked the ball quickly out to Rorio on the opposite wing and he did the rest holding off the full back to open the scoring in the corner. We just missed the difficult conversion.
We are blessed with both pace and creativity and 12 minutes in we scored again when a well placed cross field kick from Jack B dropped right into Rorios arms for him to go in at the same corner.
We ran Waterloo ragged down the right wing and Rorio soon scored his hatrick back in the same corner as his pace and body swerves left a trail of Waterloo players in his wake.
The only dampener on the first half was a late yellow for a heavy tackle that looked worse than it probably was meaning we saw out the half with 14 players. We dug deep though and again our defence came out on top. Waterloo had a moment though when we conceded a penalty in front of the posts and instead of kicking the points they decided to go for a cheeky grubber kick with one of there players pouncing on what they thought was a try. The ref disallowed it however as they had already indicated they were going for the 3 points. (I think this is what happened any way!)
The second half was a little disjointed from our perspective, we made subs throughout the half and our first half fluidity wasn't quite there as we gave away a succession of penalties. Despite this Waterloo could still not find a way through and we enjoyed far more territory as we heeded Dave's half time message to play in the Waterloo half. With 10 minutes left on the clock that man Rorio added his 4th try of the day going in down the wing again but managing to cut in under the posts to give Jack B an easy conversion.
The only thing left to do was nil Waterloo which we managed to do thanks to a try saving tackle from Cam - he faced a 2 on 1 and managed to tackle the ball carrier and force a wild pass over the supporting runners head into touch.
We ran out 22-0 winners!
Thank you to all the parents, supporters, the officials on the day and especially the boys without whom we would not come together as one big rugby family! Champions!!!
