It is with great sadness the Club have to report the passing on Sunday 7th August of Brian McLoughlin, he played in the backs, fly half or centre, being a regular member of the 1st team from 1964 through 1970's until his retirement from the game. Brian was an active member of the club, part of the 1st team team backroom and then House and Grounds manager until 2019.
The Club send our heartfelt condolences to his daughter Sarah and family.
A number of the many tributes to Brian
"He was a great man, a true legend..He used to pick me up every Tuesday and Thursday for training for years .. I was 14, when I started, every time he had with him, his signature Coat Hanger with his pressed slacks, shirt and sweater. What a man and a brilliant fly half too. I owe Brian a lot. And will never forget him". - Richard
"Brian had a great influence on many of his peers, who had the privilege of his friendship, myself over 50 years, he will be sadly missed a great servant to the club." - Steve
Brian put back into the club...he would sell match day programs and collect the admittance money. We always had the craic about him charging me too much. True gentleman and top bloke. - Mark
