Welcome to Warrington U16s Rugby – 2026/27 Season
We're delighted to welcome players, parents, and supporters to the Warrington RUFC Under 16s for what promises to be an exciting and rewarding 2026/27 season.
Pre-season training is already well underway, and we're looking forward to the start of our competitive fixtures in September. Last season brought plenty of positives, with the squad winning more matches than we lost and showing significant progress throughout the year. While we didn't quite hit our full potential when it mattered most, the experience gained has provided a strong platform for future success.
As we move into the U16 age group, new challenges and tougher competitions await. However, this talented and hardworking squad is ready to embrace them. We are always keen to welcome new players, whether you're completely new to rugby or already have experience of the game. Rugby union is a sport for everyone, regardless of size, background, or ability, and we pride ourselves on providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every player can develop both on and off the field.
One of the most rewarding aspects of last season was seeing the friendships and team spirit that developed within the group. Watching the players grow not only as rugby players but also as teammates and friends has been fantastic for coaches, parents, and supporters alike.
Training & Match Information
Training: Wednesdays
Matches / Additional Training: Sundays
Venues: Grappenhall Sports Club or Bridge Lane
(Venue details will be confirmed in advance each week.)
Following our home fixtures, players from both teams are invited into the clubhouse to enjoy post-match food together, continuing one of rugby's great traditions. Parents and supporters are always welcome to stay, enjoy the social atmosphere, and catch up with fellow rugby families.
Our Coaching Philosophy
Our aim is simple: to make rugby enjoyable, inspiring, and rewarding for every player. We want every child to have fun, build confidence, develop new skills, and leave each session feeling that they have learned something new.
All members of our coaching team are DBS checked and either hold, or are working towards, recognised RFU coaching qualifications.
Interested in Joining?
If your child would like to give rugby a try, or if you'd simply like to find out more about the team, we'd love to hear from you.
