The U8s piled into Caldy from the off and harried them off the ball with intense pressure.
Pressure turned to points as the Rebels took an early 4-1 lead in the first match.
However, over-confidence or complacency seemed to set in as Caldy exploited passes going to ground and players not setting their defence quickly enough to finish the game with a creditable 7-7 draw.
Game one stung the rebels into action and in games two and three tagging intensity went up a gear, led particularly by Ruari Byrne and the extra possession and improved control led to consecutive victories of 5-3 and 9-4.
Notable amongst the tries were efforts from Ryan Edwards and Jacob Dalton.
The final game was an honourable 5-5 Draw.
Caldy were hugely sporting in sharing players for development matches and providing the refereeing, we thank them.
A special thanks goes to 'Statto' Mark Lomax who put his clipboard aside to help Richard Park with coaching whilst Nick Roberts soaked up the sun in Twickenham, Mark even found the time to write up a match report and pass the scorers on, once again, most boys got on the scoresheet, see the stats page!!
