Warrington played two extended halves against Sefton and Birkenhead Park on a small pitch that suited the two opposing teams. Warrington set their stall out early on with some fantastic interplay in the backs. Alfie and Sonny controlled play brilliantly and there were strong charges from Christopher, Thomas and Jamie.
The ruck area proved to be interesting with the opposing teams tending to ‘pile in’ and attempt to disrupt our fluent play. Wire scored some fantastic tries, many of them coming as a result of turnovers and brilliant aggressive defence from Luke, Juan and Sonny.
The most pleasing aspect of the games was the commitment in defence and never say die attitude. The Line speed and commitment at the breakdown were phenomenal. Rory weaved his usual magic with ball in hand and Thomas and Jamie gave a fine display of straight, hard running. Mikey and Harrison were great out wide and Alfie constantly probed for space and gave some exquisite passes putting runners into space. A special mention must go to Christopher for some excellent runs and being inches away from scoring a great try, with the ball just slipping out of his hands close to the line.
The Warrington crowd rightly gave their side a rousing reception at the end of play, which was richly deserved!

Highlight of the day:
Wire had a try dubiously disallowed as the referee ruled the ball was short of the line. However instead of contesting the decision Wire got up in the faces of the opposition and smashed them backwards resulting in a turnover. Attitude is everything and that showed today!
