We have a superb group of U9s at Warrington, with 28 players currently in the squad and 8 coaches looking after the boys & girls on a weekly basis, this allows for great coverage and focus on developing some superb rugby players at Warrington. We have a tight knit group many of whom have trained together since Micros rugby but we love to bring in new players and welcomed 4 new players last season into our growing ranks.

This season sees the introduction of contact for the U9’s. Our coaching team are RFU contact trained and will ease the players into the more physical side of the game as we move into the season. First contact matches will start at the end of September and although contact will be the focus we will still keep the mentality of playing the "Warrington Way" and throwing the ball around, playing exciting attacking rugby. The kids genuinely play rugby with a smile on their face and we reward team effort rather than individual brilliance.

We will look to train once during midweek, usually Friday but the evening is to be confirmed for the new season. Our matches or training sessions will be on Sunday mornings. Matches are held home and away and can be across Lancashire and Cheshire but there are always parents and players sharing lifts to games if needed.

Players should wear suitable kit with rugby/football boots (with underskins and layers needed for the winter seasons) To training players should bring a waterbottle, gum shield, plus any additional protective gear they wish to wear. Full playing kit and training gear will be provided by the kind team sponsors.

On most Sundays at Grappenhall Sports club at home there are breakfast butties, teas/coffees etc for sale and the clubhouse. On Sundays when the team play matches, home and away, post-match food is provided by the clubs for the players and is a great time for team in the clubhouse after the game.

As coaches we aim to make the rugby experience as much fun and as inspiring as we possibly can for every child and to give them the best start in their rugby careers. We are all DBS cleared and at varying stages of our RFU coaching qualifications as well as First Aid and Safeguard trained.
